We celebrated my dear husband's birthday today! Being the shy guy that he is, he just wanted his family. He also wanted to stay on his weight loss plan. I decided I needed to find an activity that was not focused on cake and over indulgence for his birthday. I surprised him with a limo ride out of town. We had fun and he was definitely surprised. We also played a round of black light mini golf, not sure who won, but the birthday boy hit a couple hole-in-ones! We ate dinner at HuHot (perfect for people wanting to watch what they eat). Finally, we kicked back and watched a bit of the Olympics before watching Julie and Julia.
Speaking of Julie and Julia, there was one part toward the end of the movie that made me slightly crazy. I don't want to ruin the ending for anyone who has not seen it, but I really don't like it when I end a moving feeling slightly conflicted, ack.
On the Olympics...wow, what an amazing opening ceremony! We REALLY wanted to purchase the knit hats worn by the United States team during their entrance. We quickly found out they were out of stock! Bummer, maybe later in the year we can find them.
